Our Love Story

Like many modern love stories, ours began with a swipe on Hinge. Neither of us could have imagined that one simple match would lead us to finding our forever person. On May 28, 2022, we went on our very first date at Love & Exile in Nashville. What started as a casual evening quickly turned into hours of effortless conversation. One of the things that instantly connected us was discovering our shared love of music. From favorite artists to albums and concerts, we realized we had so much in common.

By the end of the night, we both knew this was something worth pursuing. Over the next several weeks, our connection only grew stronger.

Then, on July 5, 2022, Derric planned a special dinner at Etch. As our meal came to an end, dessert arrived with the sweetest surprise written in chocolate: “Will you be my girlfriend?”

Of course, I said yes! It was one of the most thoughtful and unforgettable moments of our relationship, and it’s a memory we’ll always cherish. As the years passed, we continued making memories together and discovering new adventures. One of those adventures was attending magic shows. Derric introduced me to the world of magic, and before long, it became something we both genuinely loved. Then came the moment that changed our lives forever.

On October 10, 2025, during a trip to Chicago, we attended an incredible magic show. The magician invited me on stage to help with what I thought was just another illusion. Little did I know, the real magic was waiting behind me. When I turned around, Derric was down on one knee, asking me to spend forever with him. It was the easiest “Yes!” of my life. Now, we’re counting down the days until we get to say “I do” and begin our greatest adventure yet as husband and wife. We are so grateful for each of you and can’t wait to celebrate this unforgettable day surrounded by the people we love most. 🤍
